However after I have no first, I'll put it into second, try first again and it works. No matter how much I adjust the linkage I can get R, 1st, 3rd and 5th to work only for a short amount of time, it feels as if I can not push the shifter forward enough for those gears, very sloppy on the top half but 2nd and 4th and firm and engage no problem. I Adjusted the linkage again, fixed it for about a day then same deal, stuck in a parking spot with no reverse. Get back to my shop, have no R, 1st, 3rd or 5th, shifter is just loose when I try to grab any of those gears. Adjusted everything, car shifted perfect.Īll of a sudden three days later Im at a light, go for first gear, nothing there. Thought i'd adjust the shift linkage, did that using the methods posted here, although my tranny lock pin is very lose and I can pull it right out (is this normal?) I finally got the lock pin to hold the tranny in the home position, have a 5mm pin to hold the shifter in home position. Tranny oil probably has never been changed. I also couldn't really get the black lever to go upright. I sorta tried one of those adjustments but i dont think i actually adjusted anything, because it seems like there was no slack and i didn't want to force anything. It hasn't been driven hard (like ever) and the clutch feels ok. If I try for a long time i can get into reverse, but it takes alot of force/trial and error. Whenever i shift where reverse should be, im going in first. I actually have to use two hands to get it to go side to side, and to get into first i need to push down on the shifter (as if im going into reverse). Now, its difficult, or should i say weird to get into first. I degreased the engine bay probably a month ago and the car was difficult to get into reverse a week or two following it.
